Date: Monday 27th February 2012;

Time: 13:00;

Venue: Lecture Hall;

The space we inhabit is not primarily the geometric and concrete. How we arrange our lives is not identical to the blue prints of architecture, its buildings, paths, squares and cities. Living space has its own architecture, its own geometry. It is of a different reality and extends itself right through and beyond the built environment.

Franz Xaver Baier is Prof Dr for architecture (theory + art and design research) at Munich University of Applied Sciences. In 1996 he published the widely discussed Space. An Architecture of Real Space (Raum: zu einer Architektur des gelebten Raumes, Walther König, Köln 1996/ 2000).

The private view on Monday 20 February will be from 18.30 to 22.00 at the cycling café; the installation is in the yard there. The programme continues throughout the week, see below for details.

Programme of events:

Monday
Opening Night 18.30–22.00
For AA tutors and members, and anyone else from the sponsors who wants to come and see the installation.

Tuesday
2morrows victory, Odeon EP Release 20.00–close

Wednesday
Film night by Lorenzo Luzzi 19.00–22.00
Lorenzo Luzzi, AA First Year, is doing installations of films around the city. There will be a film on the projector screen in the café itself, and he will also be projecting on to the structure of the installation.

Thursday
Cycle Powered Film Night 19.00–22.00
(TBC)
The plan is for a film screening, powered by lots of people generating energy from their bikes, sponsored by and with funds going to Hackney City Farm.

Friday
The Ride Journal Release 18.30–close
Once every few months, this publication, the ride, is released. All proceeds go to charity and it is a volunteer-led and -written organization. This is their first released for about a year now, so his is the big party night, approx. 250 people set to attend.

Saturday
20 Parks Race 10.00–16.00
Entrants get a map with all the green space in London on it, with 20 of the main parks listed with tick boxes. Each park is designated points depending on what zone it’s in, and the idea is people have to get to as many parks as possible, or accumulate as many points as possible. So, it can be as leisurely or as intense as each rider makes it. People will have to take pictures of themselves in each park for verification, but they can also update them to the event page straight away, from which they will be screened live on the projector in the café as they appear. This is sponsored by tokyo fixed gear for prizes.
